Shokuji shiyou- Lets Go & Eat

After a thorough conversation in MSN, me, Steph and Yvonne decided to treat ourselves to some quality Japanese cuisine. We agreed unanimously on Nippon Tei in KLCC after reading the rave reviews from satisfied customers.

This is Yvonne- the chaffeur of the day =P (jokin)
besties for life
while waiting for food, glorious food to come.

we were served hot green tea. mm. love green tea to the max.
was trying to capture the smoke rising out of the cup..sadly,failed
Me & my eyebags.
posing with a pair of wooden chopsticks.

looks like a knife here? =.=
Steph and I both ordered the same set. Teriyaki Salmon and Tempura set (RM 31.00)
assorted tempura (eggplant, prawn, potato and lady's finger)

japanese salad is the best! i simply cant resist their dressing. not plain old mayo or thousand island.there's something special to that flavour! mm i taste vinegar.
I AM..waiting to tear into the food. lol . but first, lets take a picture of it before I devour everything down my stomach.

chawan mushi. now,is it a coincidence that chawan sounds like cawan(cup in malay)? plus, the steamed egg is in a cute little cup!
pickles-as appetisers
Yvonne's Teriyaki beef Set (RM 34.00) comes with baby octopus!!!!
miso soup.
after meal.

The Verdict:
Teriyaki Salmon & Tempura Set- The salmon is fresh and the sauce blends well with the fish. Not too sweet. The tempura is well-fried. a little golden and not too brownish. the batter is crispy and not too oily. Miso Soup is not too salty or not tasteless, unlike some cheap miso soup where they mix in plenty of water. however, one thing they forgot to put in was seaweed(wakame). The rice wasn't too sticky and I like the tempura sauce which had some ginger strips in it. Chawan mushi was okay, not too watery. Thumbs up to the salad. I think its awesome. Just missing some cherry tomatoes.

Yvonne's set-Didn't get any comments from her. but she finished up her meal pretty fast. must be a good sign then.

A movie is always like a dessert after a meal, we opted for a chick flick-He's Just Not That Into You. I find the movie light-hearted and realistic. Plus, there are some pretty down moments for those ladies and there's a twist to the end. I did shed some tears at the end (can't help =P)

Been craving for ice-cream . Gelato Fruity then.
Yvonne's chocolate ice-cream, my chocolate mint and Steph's white chocolate. Mint is the BEST! plus their bacio flavour is also to die for.

reached home at 7 something. planning some yum cha sessions. anybody up for it?
