3 birthday celebrations

I know this post is oh-so-late. Teehee. Pardon me for the delay, been really busy these few weeks with studying for tests , SWC and A Nite stuff on my to-do list.

Last Monday was my sexy 17th, and this year's celebrations were a blast! thanks to my parents, besties, friends and everybody who wished me either through text, IM, facebook ,etc.

The 1st celebration was on a smaller scale actually, since it wasn't my birthday yet, Wei Shen said he wanna treat me for my birthday, so okay. =)

Went out to MidValley on Saturday, 4th July. He bought tickets to watch Hannah Montana, actually I wanted to watch 17 again but the screening time didn't suit our schedule. I remembered my friend Ting Ting watched that movie just for the sake of one song!" The Climb" geez. The movie itself was so-so, well, what can u expect from a disney teen star? haha. Anyway 17 again didn't get rave reviews either, but I wanna watch it because zac efron was starring in it. LOL. There was a super cute guy in the show. I wonder where they scouted all these cute guys from. Its like in every tween/teen/chick-flick movie, there will be a super cute guy with that super cute grin that sets ur heart fluttering. Haha.

Before the movie(it started at 6-ish) , we walked around the shops, Topshop, Roxy, bla bla. Bumped into Kar Lin! well, sort of she spotted me 1st and ringed me up to confirm whether I'm the one she really saw(or just a hallucination..?LOL). Chatted for awhile. Wei Shen asked me whether I would prefer cake (secret recipe) or caffeine(Coffee Bean)? I chose caffeine not because I was gonna doze off, but I was saving my craving for cake for Monday. (Haha, sounds perasan right? ). Oh, and he asked me to pick a birthday present. And,guess what I picked?

This.

I'm such a nerd at heart! Anyway, with the movie coming out, I was eager to read the book 1st (because the book always has a better plot/storyline) before catching the movie!

After watching Miley/Hannah for one hour plus, went to Co Do for some Vietnamese fare. Actually our 1st choice was Japanese cuisine but since the queue was crazy , we opted for a quieter restaurant. The food there wasn't bad at all, but it didn't exactly stand out. 3/5 rating.
Sampled the vietnamese vermicelli and also ordered some side dishes. Didn't take any photos cos busy eating =P

6 July 2009 (the day I officially turn...17! phew, one more rung up the ladder for me. not legal yet, but I will get there!=D)

received lots of text messages wishing me happy birthday, thanks alot guys, appreciate your sincerity. =) The day started out like normal, rushing to classes, econs class in the morn (zzzz), then come lunch time, Ting Ting handed me this.
Somebody made me this. LOL .sweet

After class, my gang asked me whether I would like to celebrate my birthday at Jusco Wangsa Maju. I said okie. So some of us sat Chuan's car to Jusco whereas the others took a bus there.
When we 1st arrived there (those of us sitting Chuan's car), those that took the bus had not arrived there..so...we walked around, blah blah, and then we discovered a,urm..let's see, what do u call it? kiddy amusement park? no. urm, we shall call it THE KIDDY ARCADE. lol
so being the "grown-ups" we are, we bought some tokens and started playing like crazy! LOL, mini hoops (basketball), the disc ping pong (well sort of), hitting the crocodile, shooting down people, throwing balls at insects(LMAO), well I couldn't keep count of the number of games we played. We were like in euphoria-land. Haha,i guess sometimes grown-ups should take some time off to reminisce about their childhood . ;)

Ting Ting plucked a balloon out of one of the game stalls and literally forced me to take it! LOL i did pose with it. ( i don't exactly look like a small kiddo do I?) but I didn't post up the picture.

This is the sweet gal Ting Ting

And on my right side, Low Chuan Huat

Dance fever

LOL? i stood on the stool that was meant for KIDS. yeah i'm a KID.

Soon after that, the bus gang arrived and they ushered me to Secret Recipe. They caught me by surprise cos before they took the cake out, Hui Ying casually suggested that we look at the menu if we want to order anything. So, without suspecting anything, I was too engrossed in the menu that I didn't spot them taking the cake out. Haha choc indulgence. same cake as when I was in form 3.

me with Aaron .don't know what happened to my eyes that day. so sleepy.

stupid childish me. bruised my leg while playing basketball. stupid rite? =P

As u people know (well, close friends and loyal readers of my blog), I'm a HUGE fan of Jap food. Love it to the max. Its like a tradition every year for my parents to bring me to a different Jap restaurant for my BIG DAY. This year, it was Koya Japanese Restaurant, situated at the front row of Mahkota, near Open Range. I've visited this restaurant a few times before, and I've been an admirer since.

Promotion Item: Sashimi at 9.90. now, where can u get such a cheap plate of sashimi? 5 fresh slices leh! very fresh. even without wasabi and soy sauce, it still tasted good. =) furthermore, they weren't miserly. the slices were quite thick !
Chuka Kurage. jellyfish. sprinkled with sesame seeds. served cold. RM 8.00 . not bad.
The interior of the restaurant. simple yet cosy.
deco greeting us at the entrance.
Ordered the Sakana Miso set.

Agedashi Tofu. my fave beancurd of all times!Crispy texture, yet soft on the inside, accompanied with seaweed, I don't-know-what-flakes and Japanese radish. Served with Jap soy sauce.
Sakana Miso. the miso is not too salty which is a no-no for me. to my dislike, they served it with onions. however, my craving for miso was far enough to conceal my dislike for onions.
affordable meal. plus it was really tasty. and the green tea was refillable. I love the aroma and taste of the green tea here.

10 July 2009 (Lookout Point)

Originally , the plan to celebrate my birthday with my high school besties was to go out on Saturday. Unfortunately, an SMS changed our plan. I was required to "report" to training as "ordered" by the A Night Committee on Saturday morning. So I had to make do with a dual birthday celebration with Chun Yew, whose birthday falls on 11 July at Lookout Point, near Hulu Langat. I haven't seen some of my high school mates in ages.

Compressed photos make me look weird. anyway this is me & michelle.
wow. fan min with each other d? steph looked like she's gonna shed tears
imagine someone called Bill Water patronising this restaurant. amusing!
The Menu . not very glossy.
Mee Kuan & Kar Lin. trying to shield themselves from being photographed.

Michelle's mango-ey drink.
Apparently, suffering from sore throat and cough makes it a bad time to visit a Western food restaurant. My hot peach tea is evidence.
warm embrace!
